Hi. I'm Hillary.
I am a daughter, sister, wife and mother, trying to love the Lord with all my heart and to love my neighbors as myself. On this blog, I am sharing two projects I am pursuing: "Answering Jesus," in which I respond to the questions poignantly posed by the Lord in the gospels, and "Psalms of Gratitude," in which I write based on/inspired by the Psalms I am reading. Both are projects started years ago, but being re-examined in light of a time of transition I am experiencing.
I am currently transitioning from fourteen years in public education to a new calling in Kids Ministry. It is exhilarating and terrifying to accept a new calling, but I am eager to use the spiritual gifts that have been bestowed upon me.
I am passionate about serving and supporting children and families, building relationships, and learning.
I love reading historical fiction, watching movies, running, journaling, cleaning (seriously) and chicken nachos. (not necessarily in that order). When I'm not at church or school, you can find me watching my son play baseball, basketball, or flag football; listening to my daughter play the violin, piano, or ukelele; leading our Girl Scout troop; cheering on the Virginia Cavaliers; or walking our border-beagle, Luna.
